What are Hazards?

“So, what’s a hazard? There are three main sorts of hazards. The first one is physical features like road layout; junctions, roundabouts and road surface.

The second one, the weather and the environment, such as snow, ice, wind, fog, spray, poor visibility, darkness, dazzling sun, these aren’t likely to change as we’re approaching them but the next group of hazards certainly will do and these are the focus of the hazard perception test.

Other road users; cars, trucks, motorcyclists, buses, farm vehicles, pedestrians and so on, their positions and their movements.”
