Reversing - Skills Check

“In this short video, we briefly recap the information covered in this lesson.

Straight line reversing is part of many everyday driving manoeuvres. Choose a quiet place to practice, empty car parks are ideal. If necessary, you can remove your seat belt and adjust your seat to helpp you to look back, but remember to check these before driving away. Always check behind the car before reversing, especially when there are children or other pedestrians about. Keep a slow walking pace when reversing, using clutch or footbrake control, you must be prepared to give way when reversing on a road.

Finally, looking well back helps accuracy. In addition, you might find it helpful to use the kerb as a reference point.”
