“You have now checked your mirrors at least twice, signalled your intention to turn and thought about your position, speed and gear, but before turning you need to make sure that it is safe look into the new road for parked cars, stationary traffic or other obstructions that might prevent you from turning.
Be prepared to give way to any pedestrians who may cross in front of you. Pedestrians who have stepped into the road will always have priority. Glance in your left door mirror to make sure that there are no cyclists trying to pass you on the left and then, if it is safe to, proceed.
Steer into the junction, looking well ahead into the new road, after turning, make sure that your signal is cancelled and then check your mirrors for anything that might prevent you from increasing your speed. For example, emergency vehicles that might be overtaking.
