“I’ve got another driving test myth for you. This one’s from Riley. ‘I didn’t drive as well as I should have’. Well, actually i wouldn’t really call that a myth really. It’s simple, honest reflection.
You’re a new driver with limited experience. Now, all drivers make mistakes. Consider all those speeding fines, prosecutions for bad driving, the crashes, the pileups, and so forth. Most of which are commited by experienced drivers who took their test a while back.
Now the test is to check you’re at a basic standard of driving, so you can get out there and drive on your own.
If you’re not quite up to that standard, you’ll be at a high rate of having a crash and, as it is, one in five of newly qualified drivers have a crash within their first year of passing their test.
So, its important to drive at the highest standard you can and maintain that level of driving when you’re out on the roads.”
