Examiners Have a Quota

“Well, we have another driving test myth. This one is from Francine. Thanks very much, Francine and she says ‘They can only pass a given number of people.’ I suppose this is like a quota. Well, what would be the point of this one? The sooner that you pass your test, the sooner the government can get taxes from you when you buy your car, drive your car around, get insurance, and put fuel into it.

There’s more paperwork for the examiner as well. If you fail, the examiner needs to give a longer debrief to you. If you fail your test as well, the examiner would have to make up faults and of course, if the examiner doesn’t like you, they’re going to get you back agian, aren’t they? And they wouldn’t want that, would they?

So, examiners are real people too and have had rigorous training and ongoing training with checks as well to ensure that only accurate faults are recorded. So, if you’re good enough, you’ll pass. So, make sure you’re good enough.”
