“Okay, so we’ve settled down now. We’ve come off the slip road. We’re now on the main dual carriageway and just get settling down, get the speed right, watching what the traffic’s doing and watching ahead for what comes next.
Okay, we’re at the dual carriageway, we’re about 69-70. There’s a half mile marker for an exit. We’ve also got a parking place here. So, I’m checking the outside lane, lane two, for anybody overtaking me to cut into that parking area.
We’ve now got 300, 200, 100 metre markers before the actual exit and, again, I’m looking in lane two for anybody cutting in to take this exit.
Everything seems to be okay, but without the mirror checks, I won’t know and I’ll be taken by surprise.”
