Test Routes

“Get to know your test routes. Are you sure? We did this one of the driving test myths about driving test routes. Don’t bother with them.

Knowing the test routes will help you with some knowledge of the roads on test yeah, but the test routes can change on the day because of local weather, traffic conditions, road works and other reasons. The examiner may even be testing out a new route and what you won’t know about is all the other road users on the test route. What they’ll do, what they might do and what you didn’t expect them to do.

The government hasn’t published test routes for years and years because they want learners to have a wide range of situations before they take the test, not just running around driving test routes.

And if you did get a test route that you manage to remember, that will be of no use the next day. If you’ve passed your test, you’ll be driving no doubt somewhere that is completely new to you because you can, you’ve passed your driving test”
