Joanne Hardy DVSA ADI

DRIVE Driving School ADI

Another Part 3 pass and congratulations to Joanne Hardy DVSA ADI!!

Well done to Joanne who qualified with us in Stoke recently!

A special thanks and ‘well done’ too, to our Specialist ADI Trainers as well as the rest of the Training team.

Joanne completed a trainee licence with us and is continuing as an ADI working part-time at first alongside her current employment.

Joanne had this to say:

“Why did you want to become an instructor?

I wanted to be an ADI from passing my test at age 17 (30 years ago) but never got round to doing it.

What did you do at the time?

I have been working in the bus industry for the past 20 years, passing my PCV licence in 2000, working as a driver, supervisor and admin.

What made you choose us?

I was looking to change my job and the course looked good and a great value for money.

What did you enjoy about your training?

Meeting up with my trainer Anita, who was very knowledgeable and fun to work with. Training was never dull!!!

What didn’t you enjoy? All the paperwork in the early stages and the time constraints. I still work full time, so fitting in the coursework around my job and family was difficult.

What advice would you give another person looking to be an instructor?

Stick with it, the pleasure you get from the job is fantastic.

How has this changed your life so far?

I have the option to finish with my current employer and do the one thing I have always wanted to do.
Seeing someone come to you, who is very nervous and unsure, flourish and blossom and become a full licence holder is amazing.

I’d like to thank my trainers Andrew Love and Anita Turner for all their help and advice for getting me to where I am today.”

Good luck in your new career Joanne and we look forward to seeing you on the road!
