“So we’ve seen signs that are rectangular, triangular and circular. Now, we have two signs that are specifically different and the first one is a stop sign.
These are specifically at places where you must stop. It’s not acceptable to slow down and have a quick glance and keep going. It really does mean stop and they are not very common and that tells you how important that particular junction is.
It’s octagonal, it’s got eight sides to it and, if you seee that, you know you must stop.
The second sign which is a triangle, is sort of an upside down triangle, compared to the signs we’ve seen before and this is a give way sign.
So this would be at a junction of some sort and the advice there is you must give way to traffic and pedtrians and cyclists. So it’s a give way situation you may well have to stop, but not neccesarily if everything is clear.
The first sign is a stop sign, so absolutely stop.”
