“There are four bits to the letter D at the end of FLOWERYD for you to check.
First one is damage. Like in the POWDER acronym that we did before. Check there’s nothing dangling off the car, anything broken, not working and so forth.
The next one is documents. It’s useful to have your car insurance, MOT certificate and your driving licence with you within the car. It just saves a lot of time and effort if there’s an incident, if you get stopped for anything and it also makes sure that everything’s legal and not out of date.
The next one you want to consider is the breakdown service. No matter how clever and careful you are, there’s always a possibility that something might be wrong. You might need to use the breakdown service.
So what you’ve got is D for damage, D for documents. The other one is D for deterrent. Now, a deterrent is to stop something. To stop car thieves taking your car, or taking what’s in your car. And a big yellow steering wheel lock is quite an effective one. Others are available.
The last one for the letter D is a dash cam. To have a dash cam gives you evidence of what’s in the road ahead and ideally to have one at the back to see what’s going on behind, as evidence in case there’s a rear near miss or an accident or whatever.”
